Bottle green, and finished to be cleaned
This unit is the darker bottle green finish. Colour is not purely cosmetic on a welfare cabin: a deep green weathers a site better than a light shade, hides splash and mud around the door threshold, and blends into a rural or landscaped setting where a white or beige box would stand out. Planning officers and estate managers tend to prefer it for that reason.
Everything about the interior is chosen for maintenance. The floor is aluminium chequer plate, which shrugs off boots, hoses down and never needs sealing. The wall boards wipe clean. The walls and ceiling are insulated, so condensation is manageable through the winter rather than running down the inside of the panels. There is no glazing at all, which means nothing to board up after a break-in attempt, with an extractor fan handling ventilation and fitted lighting throughout.
Two WCs and two basins are installed, connected to mains water and drainage. The shell is steel with a steel entrance door, standing on corner posts rather than jacklegs.
