Used 20fts are the single most popular thing we sell, and the reason is simple arithmetic. You get the same footprint, the same steel and the same security as a new container for a fraction of the outlay, and a container that has already spent a decade at sea will comfortably spend another twenty standing still on a yard.
What you are trading away is appearance. Expect faded paint, scuffs, dents in the corrugations and surface rust. What you are not trading away is performance: every unit is sold wind and watertight, with doors that operate and lock properly and a floor you can drive a pallet truck across.
Most used 20fts can be inspected and issued with a CSC plate before sale if you intend to ship rather than simply store, so tell us at the point of enquiry if the container needs to travel. We also stock last-way containers, sometimes called shipper-owned units, which are sold specifically for a single outbound journey. These are the usual choice for exporting equipment to remote destinations or for aid and relief consignments, where the container itself is expected to stay at the far end.
