These units come off hire fleets at roughly three to nine years old, which makes them noticeably younger than the standard used stock most yards sell. That age gap shows in the paint, the door gear and the floor, and it shows again when you come to sell the container on, because a younger box holds its value better.
Think of them as the value pick. Considerably cheaper than a one-trip container, considerably smarter than an ordinary used one. If your priority is a neat, presentable unit that will not look tired in three years’ time, this is usually the right grade to buy.
Be clear about what you are getting. Every container has worked for a living, so expect some dents, scuffs and scratches, patches of surface rust, faded paint and visible repairs. Cosmetics genuinely vary from unit to unit. If you want something with almost no imperfections at all, look at our one-trip containers instead.
What does not vary is the mechanical condition. Each container is thoroughly checked at the depot and any necessary repairs are completed before it leaves. You get a structurally sound unit that is wind and watertight, with working doors and a solid floor. Surface rust is nothing to worry about either: these are COR-TEN A grade steel bodies, on which rust forms slowly and stays non-porous rather than working through the panel.
