Roughly the footprint of a single garage, lockable, weatherproof and movable: the 20ft standard dry container is the most bought container size in the country and the default answer for most storage problems. It fits on a drive, in a car park bay or on a corner of a compound, and any container haulier in the UK can lift it.
Bodies are pressed from Corten weathering steel, which is the reason these units survive outdoors for decades. Corten forms a tight surface oxide instead of the flaking rust you get on mild steel, so the panel underneath stays sound. Our new stock is one-trip: built at the factory, used for a single cargo run, then sold on.
Dense cargo is where the 20ft really earns its place. Because the box is short, you can fill it with heavy material such as tooling, castings, tiles, paving or dried grain and still stay comfortably inside the weight limits, which is not true of a 40ft. Where you need to keep stock separated, two 20fts are usually easier to manage than one long unit.
