Where these came from, and why they are cheaper
Our usual refurbished stock comes direct from shipping lines and leasing companies. These did not. They were bought back off a site, which means they have led a harder and less documented life than a container that has gone straight from the water into our yard. Cosmetics are rougher than average and we would rather you knew that before ordering than after.
Everything that affects performance has been dealt with. Each unit is given a full repaint in green marine grade paint, a lockbox is fitted, and it is sold guaranteed wind and watertight. The floor is roughly 28mm marine plywood and the shell is COR-TEN A grade steel throughout, with double cargo doors at one end.
We would recommend these for shorter-term storage rather than as a twenty-year investment, and they are not CSC plated so they cannot be used for export. Inside that scope they are a genuinely good buy: noticeably cheaper than our standard refurbished 40ft containers while still arriving painted, locked and dry.
