Load it from above, for considerably less
An open top container replaces the fixed corrugated steel roof with removable bows and a weatherproof tarpaulin that ropes down to the container. Loading is then done by crane straight down into the box, which for heavy machinery is far quicker and safer than trying to push or drag it in through a doorway.
Buying used rather than new saves a substantial amount on a container type that is inherently more expensive than a standard box. For site storage and for straightforward machinery movements, a used unit does the identical job.
The door end also opens up
The header above the cargo doors can be swung round or taken off entirely, so you gain full-height access at the end as well as from above. Between the two you can get almost anything in that will physically fit in the space.
Lashing rings are fitted for securing the load in transit. Note that the container has to be shipped with its bows and tarpaulin in place, as they contribute to the structure as well as keeping the weather off. If your load is over the container height rather than simply awkward to load, an open top is not the answer and you should be looking at a flat rack instead.
