Cheap because of how they look, not how they work
These 40ft containers came in as a bulk purchase from a site clearance, and they are priced to move. They are a mixed batch in age, colour and appearance, and we would rather be blunt about that than have you disappointed on delivery day. Expect faded paint, scratches, dents, visible evidence of past repairs and patches of surface rust. The photographs are representative.
What has not been compromised is the thing that actually matters. Every unit is guaranteed wind and watertight, with double cargo doors at one end that open to the full width, and a marine plywood floor of around 28mm.
About the rust
Corten steel, which is what these are built from, is designed to rust. The oxide layer it forms is non-porous, so it seals the surface rather than eating through it. A container showing brown patches across the panels is behaving exactly as the alloy intends and will keep your contents dry for many years yet. It is worth understanding the distinction, because it is the single biggest reason a used container looks worse than it performs.
Two heights in the batch
Most of these are high cube at 9ft 6in, with a handful of standard 8ft 6in units. Tell us which you would prefer when you order and we will do our best, though at this price we cannot let you pick out a specific container.
Recommended for secure site storage rather than export. There is no delivery charge, anywhere in the UK.
